Guangzhou (JLC), September 19, 2024 –Zhejiang province has taken precautions against Typhoon Pulasan, the 14th typhoon of the year, which is expected to bring gales and rainstorms to the province, Chinadaily reported.
Typhoon Pulasan, with a maximum wind speed of 23 meters per second near its center, is expected to make landfall on the coast of Zhejiang in the afternoon or evening of Thursday, China's National Meteorological Center said.
At 9:30 a.m. on Thursday (September 19), Zhejiang raised its emergency response for typhoon prevention to level III.
In addition, the Zhoushan maritime authorities issued a Level II typhoon emergency response at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.
All 72 passenger ferry routes in Zhoushan have been suspended as of 8:00 a.m..
In Ningbo, a total of 20 coastal construction projects have been halted, and 352 vessels involved in these projects have been moved to safe waters to take shelter, Chinadaily reported.
China has a four-tier emergency response system, with Level I being the most severe response.
