Guangzhou (JLC), April 4, 2025--China will impose an additional 34% tariff on all the goods imported from the U.S., effective from April 10, in response to the additional tariff imposed by the U.S., the country announced on April 4.
This means energy will also be subject to additional tariffs.
The additional tariff will not be exempted, the customs tariff committee under China's State Council said.
Goods that will depart the U.S. by 12:01 on April 10 and reach China by 24:00 on May 13 will not be subject to the additional tariff, the committee said.
The announcement came days after the U.S. slapped an additional 34% tariff on goods from China and brought the total tariffs against China to 54%.
